"Buttercup Hill Tea Room on Massachusetts Avenue was, from 1928 to the late 1930s, a prestigious restaurant in the heart of this small town. It offered gourmet dining in an elegant atmosphere. Alcoholic beverages were also made available during Prohibition. The Xarris family purchased the establishment in the 1940s and operated a fine restaurant and dance hall called 'the Buttercup'..."
