The Eldridge Gymnasium

"The Eldridge Gymnasium (now Town Hall) on Maple Avenue was built in1 892 of light-colored Pompeian brick on a granite foundation. It had a vibrantly-colored roof of fluted Spanish tiles (now replaced with asphalt shingles). Facing west, a broad veranda furnished with rattan chairs ran the entire length of the building and provided views of the Canaan Valley and Taconic range. Inside, a bowling alley was installed under the veranda." www.demarsimages.com
