Jonathan HUBBARD
Grave
Inscription:
I, Conn, XV, 52
In a moment in the twinkling
of an eye at the last trump, (for the
trumpet shall sound) and the dead
shall be raised incorruptible and we shall be changed,
This Stone is Erected to the Memory of
MAJOR JONATHAN HUBBARD
Esq who deceased April the
7th 1761, Anno AEtetis 78.
In the Capacity of a Husband he
was kind and faithful; of
a Parent tender and Exemplary
of an officer approved & beloved
of a Christian Amiable
Halt passenger as you go past
Remember time, it runeth fast.
My dust in narrow bounds do ly
Remember man, that thou must die.
This dust revive it shall again;
And in a grave no more remain;
When trumpet sounds, I shall be rais,d
For this Gods holy word hath said.
