This picture appears in 'The history of the state of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations', Thomas Williams Bicknell, LL.D., Volume III, New York Historical Society, Inc. 1920. According to Gail Harris, "This photo was taken in 1914 when he ran for RI Governor on the Socialist Party Ticket... I note that my Aunt Annie was sixteen at the time the article was written ... so that had to be around 1917 ... the book was published in 1920. "
