Biography
Martin, born in c1650, married Marie Potet at Port-Royal in c1675. They had 11 children, including five sons who married into the Dugas, Thériot, Blanchard, Melanson, and Hébert families. Their daughters married into the Thériot, Aucoin, and Hébert families. In July 1701, Martin, already a resident of Cobeguit, sold 'a homestead situated along the rivière du Dauphin (Annapolis River), on the estate of the late M. d'Entremont,' to Nicolas Babineau dit Deslauriers. Martin died at Cobeguit. One of his sons, Abraham le jeune, served as a delegate for Upper Cobeguit to the Nova Scotia Council; he performed this duty until 1726, when he asked to be relieved due to lameness and infirmity.

1695 - Oath of Allegiance to King William III
In August 1695, English authorities imposed on the Acadian inhabitants at Port-Royal an oath of allegiance to King William III. Many family heads signed or made their marks on the document that attested to their having taken the oath.
