PETER JOHNSON, millwright, was baptized in Winnacunnet (renamed Hampton) as early as 1639. He married RUTH MOULTON, Apr. 3, 1660, and two months later received a deed of land from his stepfather, Thomas Coleman.

In 1668, PETER sold one share of the cow commons he had inherited from his father. PETER, along with James Philbrick, drowned in the Hampton River on Nov. 16, 1674.
