Marie E. Walsh
82, died at home on July 30 among family after a short battle with cancer. Born on January 24, 1925, in Medford, Mass., Marie was the daughter of Katharine (Harrigan) and Joseph E. Baggs. Marie married Paul V. Walsh on May 10, 1952, and celebrated 33 years of marriage before his death in 1985. Marie graduated from Milton High School in 1942. She worked at the Boston Gas Company until the time of her marriage. Marie resided most of her adult life in Northern Virginia, where she raised her family. She was a parishioner of St. John's Church in McLean, VA., and a volunteer at Powhatan Nursing Home, where she organized the weekly Mass for Catholic residents. In 1991, Marie relocated to Cape Cod to be near her sisters and brother with whom she was very close. Marie quickly became involved in the Harwich community and made many friends.
