Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.

Warren Andrew “Potsey” Louque, 83 of New Orleans, LA, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Harvest Manor, Denham Springs, LA.

Potsey was born on February 15, 1939, in Lutcher, Louisiana. He was a resident of New Orleans until Hurricane Katrina relocated him to Denham Springs. On behalf of the Louque Family, a special thank you Terry Chauvin and all the nursing home staff for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to our uncle.

He was a 1957 graduate of Lutcher High School, Lutcher, LA. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University graduating in 1963 with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management. In college he was a brother in the Phi Chapter of Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. With the late David Miller, Phi ’61 he founded the New Orleans Alumni Chapter in 1964.
