George Carlin, the legendary comedian, and social commentator, left an indelible mark on the world of comedy with his irreverent style and sharp wit. Born on May 12, 1937, in New York City, Carlin grew up in a working-class Irish Catholic family. His early life was marked by struggles, as his parents divorced when he was just a child, and he frequently moved between different homes.
Carlin's interest in comedy emerged early on, and he started performing stand-up in the 1950s. His early comedic style was more conventional, with clean-cut material suitable for mainstream audiences. In the 1960s, however, he underwent a transformation, both personally and professionally. 1940 - April - 1st electron microscope demonstrated (RCA), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' Initially used in commercial settings, microwaves becomes affordable for home use by the 1960s and 1970s, revolutionizing cooking.
