Farmer Electrocuted in Attempt to Replace Transformer Fuse

MILFORD - John Weidner, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Weidner, met instant death by electrocution at about 7 a.m. Monday.

Mr. Weidner was attempting to replace a fuse in a transformer which controlled the water supply and equipment on his farm a short distance south of here. The fuse had blown during an electrical storm Sunday evening. In attempting to replace it, he apparently allowed one of the wet wires to brush his shoulder. The current entered his boday and coursed to a tobacco can in the breast pocket of his coat, striking his heart and knocking him from the pole.

Mrs. J. W. Kirk, a neighbor, saw him fall from the pole. She was glancing from her window to see what was causing a popping noise in her radio.

Mr. Weidner is survived by his widow, Golda; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Weidner, and the following brothers and sisters: Peter Weidner, Jr., William Weidner, Walter...Read MORE...
