Stephen GARY died February 1749 in Taunton, Province of Massachusetts Bay .





"Gary Genealogy The Descendants of Arthur Gary of Roxbury, Massachusetts with an Account of the Posterity of Stephen Gary of Charlestown, Massachusetts and also of a South Carolina Family of this Name" by Lawrence Brainerd, Boston, Massachusetts, 1918, Page 163

He died between February 2, (the date of his will) and February 12, (the presentation of it) 1749 or 1750. His will mentions all his children; his eldest son being left one-fourth of his farm. His widow was appointed guardian of her sons, Ebenezer and Seth, minors. "above the age of 14 years", in January 1750 or 1751. In 1771, the aged widow of Stephen Gary, then residing in Rehoboth, Massachusetts was declared "non compos mentis," and a guardian was appointed over her estate. Her death record mentions her as "Mrs. Mary Gary, the mother of Major Elijah."
