Invention The microwave oven was invented accidentally in 1945 by Percy Spencer, a Raytheon engineer. While testing a magnetron, he noticed microwaves melted a candy bar in his pocket. Experimenting further, he discovered microwaves could cook food quickly. Raytheon patented the process, and by 1947, they built the first commercial microwave oven, called the 'Radarange.' John L. Burque, 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the comfort of his own home.

He leaves his wife of over 64 years, Gloria (Duquette) Burque, a son, Peter Burque and his wife Darline of Brookfield, two daughters, Monica Blouin and her husband Richard and Patty Denning and her husband Don all of Charlton.

Grandchildren; Steve Burque (Jess), Laurie Sutherland (Mike), Heather DeCiero (Matt), Peter Blouin and partner Molly Gregas, Michael Blouin (Katie), Jennie Walsh (Marty), Nick Blouin (Danyelle), Alicia Morrison (Dempsey),Jess Denning and partner Rob Gilchest.

Great grandchildren; Nora and Arlo Blouin, Abigail Burque, Burque and Lucille Sutherland, Daniel Walsh, Quinn Blouin, Madison Gilchest and was awaiting the arrival of another great grandson.

He also leaves many nieces and nephews, a brother-in-law, Willy Duquette (Linda), and sister-in-law, Sylvia Sheldon and his beloved Hospice caregivers, Sarah and Virginia and all the...Read MORE...
