SYLVANIA, Ga. - Benjamin Ed Youmans, 84, of Sylvania, died Wednesday, December 26, 2001, at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. A native of Post Royal, S.C. he was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. He was a retired services station operator. Mr. Youmans was preceded in death by a daughter, Paulette Irene Bolton. Survivors include daughter, Jean C. Williams, Sylvania; sons, Ricky A. Youmans, Sylvania, Benjamin C. Youmans, Zephyrhills, Fla., Robert E. Youmans, Orlando, Fla., John Wesley Youmans Beech Island, S.C.; brother, John Wesley Youmans, Jr., Burlington, N.C.; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, December 30, 2001, at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home chapel with Ben Youmans officiating. Burial in Screven County Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday. Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home of Sylvania.
