Marshfield, a post-township of Plymouth co., Mass., about 28 miles S.E. of Boston, is bounded on the N.E. by Massachusetts Bay, and intersected by a branch of the Old Colony Railroad. It contains villages named Marshfield (once the place of residence of Daniel Webster) and East Marshfield, and has manufactures of boxes and shoes. Pop. 1817. Marshfield Station is 34 miles and Marshfield Centre 32 miles by rail from Boston.
