NOTE: Response to inquiry on Ancestry.com -- "Yes, Andras Kovalcsik and Elizabeth Tomko had one son Andras, born 9 AUG 1889 there in Felso Kamence, but I am sorry to say, it seems that he was born out of wedlock. Andras Kovalcsik was an Lutheran and Elizabeth Tomko was Helvetian confession. They have very beautiful church there in Vysna Kamenica and that village is situated under mountains. They have been married for 12 years. They have had 6 children. 6 children are still living. Daughter Elizabeth, 15 and Son Andrew, 13 both born in Austria Dec 1884 and July 1886. Anna, 8, born in CT in July 1891, daughter; sons, John (b. July 1892, CT), 8; George (b. July 1895, CT), 4; and Eddie (b. Apr 1897, MA), 3. Year of immigration to United States for Andrew, Elizabeth, Elizabeth and Andrew is 1889. Number of years in the United States is 11 for all. Andrew is listed as an alien. NOTE: There is a note under Elizabeth's name that reads something like "This is sec. 2 children before marriage". It would lead me to believe that the children, Elizabeth and Andrew, were born before the marriage of the parents, Elizabeth and Andrew. That information seems to match with the immigration info that I think might belong to Elizabeth. |

The Webster Times, Webster, Massachusetts Thursday, October 19, 1939 "Andrew Korch Sr., 76, of Ash street, died Saturday morning at Webster District Hospital, from injuries sustained when he fell down a flight of stairs at his home ten days previously. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Tomko) Korch four sons, George, Edward, John and Andrew Korch, Jr. four daughters, Mrs. Henry Korch, Mrs. Mae Agacki, Mrs. Anna Feige and Mary Korch, also 39 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. The body was removed to the funeral home of Bernard J. Shaw, School street, and funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon at 2 a the Church of the Reconciliation, Rev. John L. Pickells officiating. Bearers were Stanley Kliss, Edward Korch, Jr., Emil Jewell, Jesse Aldrich, John Korch and James Good. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery in charge of Bernard J. Shaw, undertaker." |
