"John Wood, alias Atwood, came to Plymouth 1635-6, evidently with his uncle" (I believe it was his father) ", John Atwood." He was admitted as a freeman in 1647, along with his brothers, Stephen and Henry. "In 1648, they received a joint grant of land...John settled in Plympton, the part now Carver."

She was the daughter of Richard Masterson and Mary Goodall. Sarah Masterson married John Atwood, son of John Atwood and Joan Coleson, in 1642 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Sarah Masterson died in 1701 at Plymouth, Plymouth County, MA

Richard Masterson was a wool-comber from Leiden, Holland. Member of Robinson's church in Leiden. He came to America in 1629. Deacon at Plymouth. He died in Plymouth in 1633.

"Richard Masterson was of Scrooby, England and at Leyden married 1619, Mary Goodale, of Leicester, Eng. Sarah and Nathaniel were born in Holland. The family came to Plymouth in 1629, on the second voyage of the Mayflower."
