SOUTHBRIDGE -- Albert E. Laliberte, 82, of Dennison Lane, a retired cemetery superintendent, died Thursday, April 20, in Harrington Memorial Hospital.

He leaves his wife of 60 years, Rita (Lanctot) Laliberte; three sons, Albert E. Laliberte Jr. of Brookfield, and Dennis and Paul Laliberte, both of Southbridge; two daughters, Joanne Roso of West Brookfield, and Mary Jane Chenier of Southbridge; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two foster children, Patricia Lamontagne and Lisa Ramsdell, both of Southbridge. He was born in Southbridge, son of Eusebe and Amanda (Demers) Laliberte. He was a Navy Seabees veteran of World War II.

Mr. Laliberte was superintendent of cemeteries at Notre Dame Church, retiring in 1979. He previously worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford, Conn.

He was a member of Notre Dame Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

The funeral will be held Monday, April 24, from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St., with a Mass at 11:30 a.m. in Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 21, and from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 22, in the funeral home. Donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, Jimmy Fund Tribute Program, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115-6084, or American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
