She was the loving wife of the late Donald P. Korch. Born in Putnam, she was the daughter of the late Arsene and Beatrice (Porier) Blain. Mrs. Korch worked as a dietician for Lanessa Extended Healthcare in Webster, MA. She enjoyed knitting and gardening. Irene is survived by her son, James Korch of Waterford, CT and her sister Marcella Goulet of Putnam. Relatives and friends are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Tuesday December 22, 2009 in St. Joseph Church, 20 Main St., North Grosvenordale, CT. Burial will be private. Irene Korch, 75, of 7 Plum Road in North Grosvenordale, was taken by ambulance to Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, where she was pronounced dead, state police said. Police said Korch was headed north on Route 12 at about 10:16 a.m. when her car went off the side of the road and hit the pole. The accident knocked out power to several businesses in North Grosvenordale for a few hours. Trooper Daniel Bruell of the Danielson barracks continues to investigate. |
