Joseph Beaubien married Marguerite Cote and relocated to Ontario from Quebec. They settled on Amherst Island in Lake Ontario (just west of Kingston)and raised their children there. Among their children were twin boys, Louis and Francis X. Louis moved to nearby Howe Island at the mouth of the St. Lawrence east of Kingston and farmed there. His brother Francis X. remained on Amherst and farmed. I am descended from the Howe Island/Gananoque branch. I am the great-great grandson of Louis Beaubien. Joseph Beaubien and Margeurite Cote were by great-great-great grandparents. They had a son, Joseph, who married Sarah Kimmerly, of Dutch and United Empire Loyalist background. Their son, Joseph (III) married Bertha Ashlaw and they relocated to Dover Township near Chatham, Ontario. Their daughter, my grandmother, Gertrude Sarah Beaubien, married William J. Seney and their second oldest son, Albert Seney, was my father. BTW, through Gilles Trottier and Catherine Loiseau, we are related to the singer, Madonna, and to Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, wife of Prince Charles. Rev. Dr. T. S.
