Bio "Denis, the second surviving son, received his first name from his godfather, Denis Derome, on 18 June 1673. Denis was the only one of the family to be baptized at Quebec. I am still looking for the reason. He also went to find his kindred spirit at the Lacasse home. At Beaumont, on 9 November 1695, he took Charlotte as his life's companion. Together, they brought 13 children into the world. After Charlotte's death, Denis was married a second time, on 25 May 1724, to Elisabeth Roy, from the family of Louis and of Marie Ledran. This second union produced 9 Roy-Nadeau children. Denis was responsible for 22 children. Denis was appointed lieutenant in the militia for the seigneurie of Saint-Claude. In 1729, he claimed not to know how to write. However, in 1744 he wrote a dignified letter to his daughter Marie-Madeleine, who wanted to marry Pierre-Francois Rigaud, bailiff at the Sovereign Council. Denis's mortal remains were buried in the cemetery of Saint-Michel on 4 March 1759, a short time before the fall of Quebec and the French Regime." Thomas J.
