St-Andre, Niort, Poitou, France "Mathurin Pelloquin and Ambroise Syllard were married on 1 July 1658 in the church of Saint-André. Mathurin's parents were Mathurin Pelloquin and Francoise Chastigné. Ambroise was the daughter of Guillaume Syllard and Ambroise Barbaut. She was born in Niort on 9 December 1634. The priest, Louis Pelloquin, who prepared the marriage certificate recorded Mathurin's surname as 'Ploquin'. They had three children: Francois born around 1664, Marguerite born on 6 September 1669 and Phillippe born on 16 May 1672. Although there were many Pelloquin families in this region during the first half of the 17th century, their numbers decreased considerably by the end of the century."
