Kaiser Wilhelm was told by General Hindenberg that the loyalty of the army could no longer be guaranteed. Wilhelm abdicated and fled to Holland. Hartford Courant, The (CT) - June 19, 2009 Deceased Name: RIZZA, Arline Grace (Jasse) RIZZA, Arline Grace (Jasse) Arline Rizza, 91, died on June 16, 2009 at Jerome Home in New Britain. She was born in 1917, to Anna and Carl Jasse, from Westfield. She graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1935, where she was nick-named ''Babe'' and where she nurtured an ambition to become a pilot. She was married to Michael Rizza, who died in 1968. She worked for Aetna. She is survived by five children, 13 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, and by a younger brother, Raymond Jasse, married to Eleanor, of Westfield. Arline was a great dancer and an avid card-player, not exactly an airplane pilot, but next best thing, a feeder of birds. She was a popular character among her friends and family. She insisted that her five children go to church, pray each night, honor values, excel in school, participate in scouting and learn practical skills. Her son Joseph, married to Bea of Auburn NY, is a retired physician and resident of Pinedale, WY, and is the father of Michele, Suzanne, and Eric; her daughter Joan, married to Bruce Ellison, is a resident of Unionville and the mother of Karl and Amy; son, Paul married to Carolyn of Houston, TX, is a retired college professor and an officer of the I.R.C. and the father of Michael, Laura, and Sandra; her son, James married to Sandra, is a retired officer of Blue Cross/Blue Shield and a resident of Avendale, AZ and is the father of Jason and Jessica; her daughter Peggy, married to Robert Ellsberg, is a college professor and resident of Ossining, NY and mother of Nicholas, Catherine, and Christina. A memorial service is planned for October; burial will be private. |
